The Real Reason Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz Called Off Their Engagement
The breakup happened earlier than we thought.
On Tuesday, Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum, one of Hollywood's It couples, shocked pop culture enthusiasts everywhere by calling it quits. And it seems the breakup is still very fresh for the two, as a source told People that Kravitz and Tatum called off their engagement just last weekend.
"They haven’t been on the same page and grew apart," the insider explained.
People initially reported the split on October 29 after multiple sources confirmed the breakup. The couple dated for three years after meeting on the set of their movie Blink Twice.
The former couple celebrated the release of the movie just this past summer and were photographed packing on the PDA at premieres and big events. At the time, Kravitz told People that collaborating on projects bonded them.
"Art is our love language," she said at the premiere. "I think it's what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other."
The two took Vanity Fair's famous lie detector test in August while promoting the movie. During the interview, Tatum called his fiancée an "amazing director," though, admitted she could sometimes be strict on set. "Would you ever say there were days on set where I was...I don't know, a bitch?" Kravitz asked, to which Tatum responded, "100 percent."
When Kravitz continued and asked Tatum if he thought she was a bitch all the time or just on set, the actor jokingly answered, "Mm, both...I'm kidding, I'm kidding."
After Kravitz's jaw dropped, he clarified, "No, look. Directing, as you know, is one of the hardest things, and you have to be a bitch in order to make a movie as good as you did."
