A 7-foot, 650-pound tribute to a feminist icon
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a U.S. Supreme Court Justice
who fought for gender equality
A statue to honor her 27 years on the bench
now stands in her birthplace of Brooklyn, New York
"These two steps represent her climb to the Supreme Court, and we encourage folks to step on the pedestal and stand with Ruth to be inspired by her legacy and everything she's done for equality."
"It was made to be 7 feet tall because Ruth was larger than life and everything she did was bigger than life itself."
The bronze sculpture is part of an initiative
by artists Gillie and Marc called Statues for Equality
Its unveiling came just days before
what would have been Ginsburg's 88th birthday
