Ratings: WWE ‘Friday Night Smackdown’ Rakes in Another Demo Win for Fox

·3-min read

NBC’s “Dateline” battled it out with Fox’s WWE “Friday Night Smackdown” for the ratings championship belt on Friday night. While Fox, unsurprisingly, scored in the key 18-49 demographic, it was NBC that took home the highest average total viewership with an average of 2.5 million.

The latest WWE matchup fought its way to a 0.5 demo rating and 2.2 million total viewers, which is the second-largest audience for the brand since July of this year. It comes on the heels of last week, when “Smackdown” drew its largest total audience in a year with 2.4 million tuning in.

ABC’s latest episode of “Shark Tank” also caught viewers’ eye, managing to also secure 2.5 million total viewers. However, the network’s average was pulled down slightly by the 2.3 million that stuck around for a new episode of “20/20,” meaning that ABC came in second for average total viewers.
