Rare Potoroos Make Debut at Australian Reptile Park

A pair of rare, long-nosed potoroos were welcomed at the Australian Reptile Park in New South Wales, park officials announced on Wednesday, March 8,.

The small marsupials, which are members of a vulnerable species, would be on view for park visitors to admire up close.

This footage released by the park shows the potoroos arriving at their new home and snacking on some corn.

The long-nosed potoroo is nocturnal and is native to Australia’s south-east coast, the park said.

“This species is an important part of Australia’s unique biodiversity,” said park director Tim Faulkner, adding that he hoped visitors would leave the park “with a greater appreciation for how diverse and incredible our Australian wildlife truly is.” Credit: Australian Reptile Park via Storyful
