Rare 'Dancing Lemurs' Arrive at England's Chester Zoo

A pair of ‘dancing lemurs’ have become the first of the rare species to arrive in Europe as part of a new conservation breeding program, according to England’s Chester Zoo.

The Coquerel’s sifaka lemurs, named Beatrice and Elliot, arrived at Chester Zoo from the United States to help establish a new conservation breeding program to help save the species from extinction, the zoo said.

“It’s a real, real privilege to be able to care for this enthralling species and we’re sure that visitors to the zoo will love learning all about them,” Holly Webb, Primate Keeper at Chester Zoo, said. Credit: Chester Zoo via Storyful
