‘A Quiet Place Part II’: Watch the Final Trailer for John Krasinski’s Thriller

Shhhh! The final trailer for “A Quiet Place Part II” is here.

Premiering in theaters on May 28, the movie serves as the highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s “A Quiet Place.”

Picking up where the first movie left off, “Part II” follows the surviving members of the Abbott family navigating a world where sound is lethal, after the death of patriarch Lee. The film stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Cillian Murphy and Noah Jupe. John Krasinski, whose character sacrificed his life to protect his family in the first movie, appears in flashbacks.

“A Quiet Place Part II” is directed by Krasinski, who also writes with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Krasinski, JoAnn Perritano and Allyson Seeger executive produce, while Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller serve as producers.

In March, Krasinski told Variety he was hesitant when Paramount approached him to make a sequel to his horror debut. While the first “A Quiet Place” was both a critical and commercial success, the actor-director feared that a second film wouldn’t be able to capture the same magic. Then he came up with an idea that excited him and real-life and on-screen wife Blunt.

“I had this small idea, which was to make Millie the lead of the movie,” Krasinski said. “Not only did I think she would give an amazing performance, which I knew she could do, her character opens the door to all the themes I was dealing with in the first movie.”

Simmonds, who is deaf and communicates through American Sign Language, said she helped Krasinski improve his ASL skills while on set of “Part II.”

While Krasinski has called “A Quiet Place” a “love letter” to his kids, he thinks of “Part II” as the reverse.

“If the first movie is from the parents to the kids, this is the love letter from the kids to the parents,” Krasinski said. “It’s a letter of dreams and hopes. I hope [my children are] this brave, and I hope they’re this courageous, and I hope they’re the ones that, when time gets dark, they’re cool enough to light the candle.”
