The Queen & Prince Philip Share a Sweet New Portrait for Their 73rd Anniversary

From Harper's BAZAAR

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are celebrating another year of marriage together. Tomorrow, November 20, will mark the sovereign and the Duke of Edinburgh's 73rd wedding anniversary.

In a new photo shared by Buckingham Palace, the queen sits alongside her husband as they both admire an adorable, custom-made anniversary card created by their great-grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Along with the Cambridge children's greetings, the royal couple are surrounded by other cards and letters sent by well-wishers in honor of their anniversary.

The photo was taken earlier this week by photographer Chris Jackson in the Oak Room in Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are currently quarantining amid the United Kingdom's second national lockdown due to a surge in coronavirus cases.

BAZAAR.com understands that there are no firm plans yet in place in terms of how the queen and the rest of the royal family will choose to celebrate the upcoming holidays amid the current global health crisis.

Throughout the pandemic the queen has carried out the bulk of her duties remotely and from the safety of her home estate at Windsor Castle, adapting to the new norm of virtual appearances and video-call meetings. She did manage to make a handful of public appearances, however, including one for her granddaughter Princess Beatrice's wedding, another for the knighthood and honoring of Captain Sir Tom Moore, and, most recently, for a scaled-down public ceremony honoring Remembrance Sunday.
