Queen Elizabeth II's Profile Etched Into Sand at Adelaide's Brighton Beach

An artist paid a poignant tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II at Adelaide’s Brighton Beach by etching a likeness of the monarch into the sand.

This footage, uploaded on September 19, shows the side profile of the sovereign wearing a crown and jewels.

“A beautiful day to create a memorial sandala for the Queen,” the artist, Sue Norman, wrote on Facebook. Norman encouraged passers-by to have a look and “even leave flowers” before it was washed out to sea by the tides. Credit: Ashleigh Kate via Storyful
