Social media was literally buzzing last week when it was revealed that Beyoncé owns not one, but two beehives. The Houston-born celeb shared the news in an interview with British Vogue for their December 2020 issue.
With fans affectionately referring to Beyoncé as "Queen Bey" and themselves as the "Beyhive," the beehives might seem an aesthetically calculated choice. But in actuality, the reason for the beehives has a far deeper and holistic reason.
Beyoncé shared that both of her daughters suffer from allergies, and honey is known to have healing properties for those who battle with the condition.
"I know it’s random, but I have two beehives. Real ones," Beyoncé divulged in her British Vogue interview. "I’ve had them at my house for a while now. I have around 80,000 bees and we make hundreds of jars of honey a year. I started the beehives because my daughters, Blue and Rumi, both have terrible allergies, and honey has countless healing properties."
