Scooch over green triangles, make way, purple ones - Quality Street has introduced a new flavour to its popular selection tin in time for Christmas, and it's the brand’s first ever white chocolate sweet.

So now there's a whole new flavour to fight over this festive season.

The latest addition to the iconic chocolate box is the Crème Caramel Crisp chocolate, which is the brand’s 12th flavour, following the discontinuation of one of its toffee flavours last year. (So long, toffee).

Packaged in a seasonal silver and gold wrapper, the new round sweet has been specially created to taste like a crème caramel dessert with pieces of crunchy biscuit, encased in milk and white chocolate.

Frankly, it sounds beyond dreamy.

Before you rush out to buy a pack, it's worth noting the delicious-sounding new choc will only be available at 17 John Lewis stores.

But it is totally worth heading down there - because in-store Quality Street pick and mix is coming back, which means you'll be able to put together your tin of dreams.

Choc fans can create their own bespoke collection of favourites from the 12 sweets in this year’s assortment.

And the personalisation doesn't end there, you can even put your own stamp on the collectors' tin if you want to.

Eco-conscious customers also have the option of refilling previous John Lewis Quality Street tins if they prefer to re-use and recycle.

Pick and mix costs £12, £15 if you want your tin personalised. Refills will cost £10.

Commenting on the return of the scheme John Lewis Christmas buyer Lisa Cherry says: "We cannot wait to welcome customers to 17 stores to create their personalised Quality Street tins - for some, this is now the start of their festive calendars.

"Launching the first ever Quality Street sweet featuring white chocolate is so exciting and we can’t wait to hear what our customers think of this new and exclusive flavour."

Cat Mews, brand manager for Quality Street, said: “We know how much people missed our pick and mix stations and John Lewis last year, so we are delighted to announce that they are back for 2021.

“It’s a landmark year for Quality Street as the brand turns 85, and we’re celebrating our return to John Lewis with an exclusive new sweet and a beautifully designed collector’s tin that shoppers can personalise with a name of their choice.

“Best of all, you can tailor the contents exactly to your liking, whether that means nothing but purple ones, a tin full of toffees or a feast of fruit crèmes.”

The pick and mix station at John Lewis’s flagship Oxford Street store opened on 21 September, with other participating stores following from the end of the month.

The Orange Truffles are available exclusively at Tesco this year for a limited run, so be quick if you don't want to miss out.
