Pulsar Content Boards ‘Nightride’ With Moe Dunford, Joana Ribeiro (EXCLUSIVE)
Pulsar Content has secured worldwide sales on “Nightride” a Belfast-set thriller from BAFTA-nominated helmer Stephen Fingleton (“The Survivalist”), starring Moe Dunford (“Vikings,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) and Joana Ribeiro (“The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”).
Shot in one take over an action-packed night, “Nightride” is laced with dry humor and follows a smalltime dealer, Budge, as he tries to pull one last deal with cash borrowed from a dangerous loan shark. When the handover goes terribly wrong, Budge finds himself in a race against the clock to get a hold of his missing product and find a new buyer before the loan shark tracks him down.

Now in post, the high-concept film is produced by Silk Mass, Village Films and Logical Pictures, and written by Irish scribe Ben Conway (“Hunter’s Fall”). It marks Fingleton’s sophomore feature, following his critically acclaimed debut “The Survivalist,” a post-apocalyptic thriller which was nominated for a BAFTA and won prizes at Tribeca, Sitges and the British Independent Film Awards.
Pulsar Content has already pre-sold “Nightride” with the script to Vertigo Releasing in the U.K., Lusomundo in Portugal, and Gulf Film in the Middle East. The Paris-based company, co-founded Gilles Sousa and Marie Garrett, will introduce an exclusive promoreel to buyers during Cannes pre-screenings next week.
“‘Nightride’ is a singular project which required a sales agent with great taste and focus. Pulsar have been a perfect match for the material,” said the producers.
Garrett and Sousa, said the “thriller is full of great characters with constant ticking clock. The script was a page turner — Stephen Fingleton delivers an edge-of-your-seat film which will be a great fit for international audiences,” added the pair.
At Cannes, Pulsar is repping Elie Grappe’s coming-of-age drama “Olga” which will open at Critics’ Week. The banner is also selling Kike Maíllo’s “A Perfect Enemy,” as well as Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s “The Deep House.”
