Is PSN down? Yup, the PlayStation Network has got problems again

As of 10.15 ET / 16.15 BST on July 1, 2024, it looks like the PlayStation Network (PSN) is down.

The issues were first reported at 7:50 PDT / 10:50 EDT / 15:50 BST today and seem to be hitting locations across the globe with status reports saying it's affecting the US and UK, while users on social media in Japan, Spain, Germany, and France are all also reporting problems.

Play Station's service status page says that account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, and the PlayStation Store have been affected and that 'some services are experiencing issues.'

Is PSN down?

It's official, PSN is down right now. That is at least according to the official PlayStation Network service status page. The page states that Account management, gaming and social, PlayStation video, and the PlayStation Store are down with only PlayStation Direct functioning as it should.

What happened the last time PSN was down?

The last major outage began at 09:51 PST / 12:51 EST / 16:51 GMT on March 21, 2024 and affected PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and web services across the board.

As you can see from a snapshot below of the official PlayStation Network Service Status page, it did not look good, with issues affecting all facets of the ecosystem.

As to what caused the outage, we're not sure, but can report that it was fixed after just couple of hours.
