The Parliament Select Committee (PSC) on the Agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department will hold a meeting next Wednesday to discuss MACC Chief Commissioner Azam Baki's share ownership in two public listed companies.

This is according to a notice sent out by Dewan Rakyat secretary Nizam Mydin Bacha to the PSC members.

"This meeting aims to discuss the share ownership issue of the MACC chief commissioner," Nizam said in the notice dated Jan 11.

All eight members of the PSC including its chairperson PAS' Kuala Krai MP Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman are invited to attend the meeting at 2pm on Jan 19.

The MPs have been requested to undergo an RTK-Ag saliva test for Covid-19 at the parliamentary clinic before attending the meeting.

The notice was uploaded on social media by DAP's Kota Kinabalu MP Chan Foong Hin, who is also a member of the PSC.

Chan said he received the notice informing them to attend the meeting this morning.

The opposition lawmakers had demanded the matter surrounding Azam's (above) share ownership to be referred to a parliamentary committee as MACC's oversight bodies failed to deal with the matter accordingly.

This was particularly so after MACC Anti-Corruption Advisory Board chairperson Abu Zahar Ujang cleared Azam of any wrongdoing on Jan 5.
