Prue Leith has seen some fan criticism of herself — and she isn't disagreeing with what's been said.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, The Great British Baking Series judge, 83, reacted to a fan of the series who said that she has a specific way of speaking. (The series is known as The Great British Bake Off in England.)

"Oh, I hate my voice. It’s too posh," Leith told the outlet. "When I replaced Mary Berry on Bake Off, someone on Twitter said: ‘Oh no, not that posh bitch,’ and I sort of agreed with her."

"But yes, Americans seem to like it," the star added of her speaking voice.

Leith joined The Great British Baking Series in March 2017, replacing Berry, 88, when the television program moved to Channel 4.

Her former The Great British Baking Series costar Sandi Toksvig will soon appear on the star's upcoming show, Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen, after she left the Netflix show in 2020.

At the time, Toksvig, 65, said she would be moving on from the program to focus on other work projects.

But, in an interview with Radio Times earlier this year, Toksvig revealed that she "stopped having fun" on the show.

"To be honest, I left [the show] because I stopped having fun. I was literally standing there watching meringues dry and thinking, 'Oh my God, my brain is atrophying,' " she said. "So after three years, I thought, 'That’ll do, go and do something else!' "

"I’m in love enough with the business to think, 'Okay, that’s a nice paycheck, but it doesn’t work for me. I’ll move on and do something else,' " Toksvig added.

Reacting to Toksvig's comments, Leith told The Sunday Times she can't empathize with her former costar, noting, "But I can see how that is the case for Sandi because she is such an intellectual."

"She’s now back at university and she’ll earn no money, but she loves it because she’s so clever and loves working with young people," she continued, referring to how Toksvig is conducting a research project at the University of Cambridge, per The Sunday Times.

"And while she was a presenter, judges like me aren’t on screen all the time," added Leith. "I walk on, eat cake and walk off. I can be busy writing a cookbook the rest of the time.”

All seasons of The Great British Baking Show are currently streaming on Netflix.
