Protests flare up in Bolivia over controversial law

Critics of Arce came out to block city streets, while groups linked to the government's Movement Toward Socialism (MAS) party came out in solidarity with the President.

Presidential spokesperson, Jorge Richter, said the protests intended to destabalize Arce's government.

Protesters are critical of legislation that could see authorities be given the power to investigate the private assets of citizens without an order from the court.
