Protesters in Washington Rally for National Climate Emergency on Indigenous Peoples' Day

Indigenous activists rallied in Washington, DC, on October 11, urging US President Joe Biden to declare a national climate emergency.

Native American leaders, tribal members, and supporters gathered in the capital on Indigenous Peoples’ Day for the protest. It is part of the five-day People vs Fossil Fuels event, demanding more extreme actions to curb carbon-producing fossil-fuel projects, according to the event’s organizer, Build Back Fossil Free.
