Police in the Peruvian capital Lima responded to crowds protesting against President Pedro Castillo on Saturday, November 5.
Footage from the demonstrations in central Lima shows people covering their faces and washing and wiping their eyes. Peruvian media reported police had fired teargas at protesters. Storyful could not independently confirm this.
The protests came amid ongoing corruption allegations levelled at Peru’s president, who last month was the subject of a constitutional complaint filed by the country’s attorney general, the BBC reported. Credit: @KayMishi via Storyful
