Protesters Return to Streets in Yangon After Deadly Crackdown

Protesters against the military takeover in Myanmar returned to the streets of Yangon on March 1, a day after at least 18 people were killed when police opened fire on crowds in several cities.

Mass arrests were also reported on February 28, and attacks on the press. The AP said on March 1 that one of its journalists had been arrested.
