Protesters Say Pepper Spray Used on Daunte Wright Demonstrators in Brooklyn Center

Protesters claimed police in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, used pepper spray to disperse demonstrators before a curfew began on April 13.

Public safety officials issued three dispersal warnings on April 13 and said protesters who did not leave the area would be arrested.

Multiple reports from the scene show a spray being used by police on protesters. This video shows a distressed demonstrator being held up and led away by two people who are carrying water bottles.

Police Chief Tim Gannon described the shooting as an “accidental discharge”, saying to reporters that the officer in question drew a hand gun instead of a Taser. Credit: Brandon Long via Storyful
