Protesters March in Manhattan in Solidarity With Asian American Community

Demonstrators marched in Manhattan in solidarity with the Asian American community on Saturday, March 20, one of multiple shows of support across the US.

Sarah Belle Lin recorded footage of protesters marching down Mott Street, holding signs and chanting as they moved towards Chinatown. The group had congregated in Times Square before heading south.

“When Asian lives are under attack, what do we do?” a demonstrator asked the crowd, which responded, “Stand up, fight back.”

Similar demonstrations took place in Atlanta, Chicago, and Milwaukee on Saturday, as actor Sandra Oh spoke to a crowd rallying in Pittsburgh. Credit: Sarah Belle Lin via Storyful
