Protesters and counter-protesters gathered outside Kenosha County Courthouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, November 16, as jury deliberations were underway in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.
Rittenhouse is on trial for charges of “reckless homicide, intentional homicide, and attempted intentional homicide” for killing two men and wounding a third during protests in Kenosha in August 2020. The closing arguments were delivered on Monday, CBS reported.
Rittenhouse faces life in prison on the first-degree intentional homicide charge, and up to 60 years on each of the other homicide-related charges if convicted.
Wisconsin Gov Tony Evers urged for peace in Kenosha and across the state regardless of the outcome of the trial.
