Protesters Clash in Huntington Beach as Police Declare Unlawful Assembly

Police declared an unlawful assembly in order to disperse an unruly crowd that had gathered in Huntington Beach, California, on Sunday, April 11.

Media reported that a planned “white lives matter” rally in Huntington Beach was promoted by a KKK-affiliated group, the Loyal White Knights of the KKK. The event was one of several planned “white lives matter” protests to be held across the United States, reports said.

The Huntington Beach chapter of Black Lives Matter said it was holding a counter-protest of the “white lives matter” rally on Sunday, according to the organization’s flyer.

At least two people were arrested, one for a “noise infraction” and another for "resisting an officer, according to a police officer on the scene. Credit: practitionerahmed via Storyful
