Lightning filled the sky near a National Weather Service (NWS) station on the evening of June 26, timelapse footage released by the agency shows.
The NWS said the “prolific lightning” occurred “under the upshear anvil of departing convection.”
On the evening of June 26, the weather service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in northwest Kansas, southwest Nebraska, and northeast Colorado.
