Prisoner freed from Afghan prison arrives in Pakistan

The Taliban has reportedly freed prisoners as it took control in Afghanistan and the Pakistani Taliban, or Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), said in a statement around 780 prisoners, including some of its important leaders, were being released.

Wali Ullah crossed into Pakistan on Tuesday (August 17) and said he had spent two years in Bagram's prison before the Taliban broke into the facility and released prisoners.

"I am very happy to return to my relatives. It seems like I have got a new life," he said.
