There's a royal baby on the way! Princess Iman of Jordan is pregnant.

On Friday, Jan. 24, Queen Rania took to Instagram to share the news that her daughter, Princess Iman, 28, and her son-in-law Jameel Thermiotis are expecting their first child.

Rania posted a sunset beachfront photo, with Princess Iman proudly showing off her growing baby bump. In the caption, translated into English, she wrote: "Both are dear to my heart, but the one to come is even more precious... May God bring it to a blessed end. Two is a couple, three is a blessing."

The announcement comes just months after the birth of Princess Iman's niece, who was given her name. In August 2024, Crown Prince Hussein and his wife, Princess Rajwa, welcomed their daughter, Princess Iman.

Iman is the second child and eldest daughter of Queen Rania and King Abdullah of Jordan. While her older brother, Crown Prince Hussein, is the heir to the throne, Iman is not in the line of succession—and neither may her baby. According to the constitution of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the throne is passed down through King Abdullah Ibn Al-Hussein's dynasty, following a hereditary line of male heirs.

“The Royal title shall pass from the holder of the Throne to his eldest son, then to the eldest son of that eldest son, and in linear succession in a similar process thereafter. Should the eldest son die before the Throne devolves upon him, his eldest son shall inherit the Throne, even if the deceased has brothers. The King may, however, select one of his brothers as heir apparent. In this event, the title to the Throne shall pass to him from the holder of the Throne,” Article 28 states.

Even if Crown Prince Hussein has no sons, he would theoretically be succeeded by his younger brother Prince Hashem as the king of Jordan. Princess Iman isn’t the only sibling the throne passes over— her younger sister, Princess Salma, is in the same spot.

Princess Iman married Jameel in a stunning royal wedding in Amman in March 2023. Her elder brother walked her down the aisle and wished the newlyweds a bright future in a thoughtful tribute on Instagram.

"Grateful for all the precious memories we share and overjoyed to see you celebrate your wedding today… I wish you, dear Iman and Jameel, a lifetime of blessings and happiness together,” Crown Prince Hussein posted.

The celebration came eight months after the Royal Hashemite Court announced the engagement in July 2022.

"The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce the engagement of Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II to Mr. Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, on Tuesday, 5 July 2022," wrote the Court, "in the presence of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, as well as Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, and Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, in addition to members of Mr. Thermiotis' family."

"The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Iman and Mr. Thermiotis on this occasion and wishes them a lifetime of happiness," it continued.
