Princess Eugenie is passing on the fandom for England's soccer squad.

On July 10, King Charles' niece posted a never-before-seen throwback video of her son August, 3, to wish the men's national team well in the UEFA Euro semifinals against the Netherlands. The footage showed Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's eldest son snuggled up in a Three Lions onesie, and cooing when Eugenie touched his stomach.

"Throwback to a baby Augie 🥹 Wishing @england the best of luck tonight ⚽️ #euros," the royal mom captioned the clip. Parents of two young sons, Princess Eugenie and Jack share August (affectionately known as Augie) and Ernest, 1 (who is also called Ernie).

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's younger daughter shared more on her Instagram Stories, reposting the reel along with a poll — "Are you watching England play?" Eugenie, 34, also welcomed followers to "Tag me in your England kits," using the British parlance for uniforms.

Hinting at an interest in sports, Princess Eugenie previously attended Super Bowl LVI in California with her cousin, Prince Harry, in February 2022, as well as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the United Arab Emirates in November 2023.

Nodding to the next generation, she also opened an Instagram tribute for Ernie's first birthday with a picture of him sitting in the grass, wearing a sports jersey.

The royal was also in luck when Team England clinched the win on July 10. During the 90th minute of the game in Dortmund, Germany, Ollie Watkins scored the winning goal, 2-1. The point pushed the English team to the finals against Spain on Sunday, July 14. Watkins, 28, also plays for England Premier League club Aston Villa, and received a personal shoutout from Aston Villa superfan Prince William online.

"What a beauty, Ollie! Congratulations England! #EURO2024 Finalists 🎉," the Prince of Wales, 42, wrote on X on July 10. He signed the message "W" to indicate that the note came directly from him, as he often does when commenting on updates in the soccer world.

Prince William attended England's quarterfinals victory against Switzerland at Düsseldorf Arena on July 6, and had plenty of animated reactions as he followed the close game. England and Switzerland were tied 1-1 in the nail biting play, and the U.K. crew advanced after winning the penalty shootout 5-3.

The heir to the throne is president of the Football Association, soccer's governing body in England, and a loyal follower of the sport. Like William, King Charles also shared warm congratulations after England's July 10 victory in an unusually playful statement referencing the anxiety-inducing final minutes.

"My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship — and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s match," King Charles said in a message from him and Queen Camilla.
