Prince William's "Secret" Sister May Be Joining the Royals for Christmas
The two previously some drama back in the day.
Christmas at Sandringham is turning out to be a full fledged family affair for the royals. Although Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, and Princess Eugenie will not be in attendance at the annual gathering—Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also didn't receive invites—the guest list continues to grow in the days leading up to the big event. After a being encouraged by her doctors not to travel abroad to her in-law's festivities, a pregnant Princess Beatrice will be present at Sandringham.
Apparently, to Prince William's dismay, Queen Camilla's son, Tom Parker Bowles, will be attending the royal family's gathering in Norfolk for the first time ever. And now it seems that his "secret" sister, Laura Lopes, with whom William also had past drama, is on the final guest list, as well, according to The Mirror. Last year was reportedly Lope's first time at Sandringham Christmas.
Parker Bowles and Lopes's presence could make it a slightly awkward couple of days for William. A previous report from the Daily Beast claimed that William isn't the biggest fan of Parker Bowles. And according to Katie Nicholl's 2010 book, William and Harry, he isn't too fond of his step-sister, either. In an excerpt from the book, obtained by The Sun, Nicholl revealed that William and Camilla's daughter previously had some tension after a then-Prince Charles and Camilla got together.
"William and Laura used to have terrible fights over who was to blame for their broken homes," Nicholl stated in the text. "William would blame Camilla for all the hurt she had caused his mother [Princess Diana], which would send Laura into a rage...Laura was not having any of it. She would take a hard line and fire back at William, 'Your father has ruined my life.'"
Despite reports that William would skip out on Christmas if his stepbrother, Parker Bowles, was in attendance, William himself revealed the final guest count came to 45 during an engagement earlier this month. “We’ll be in Norfolk, at Sandringham," William shared while meeting with soldiers and their families, per People. "We'll be 45 for Christmas. It won't be quiet, it will be noisy."
