Prince Harry Just Reunited Meghan Markle and Baby Archie in Canada

After spending a little time on opposite sides of the pond—Prince Harry in the UK, Meghan and Archie in Canada—the whole Sussex family is now in the Great White North. It was reported that Prince Harry returned to his wife and son (and dogs!) on Monday night.

Over the holidays, the family of three vacationed on Canada's Vancouver Island, but shortly after the first of the year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle flew back to the UK, appearing publicly for a visit to Canada House on January 7. Just one day later, the couple sent out a statement announcing their intention to step back from their roles as senior royals, and launched a website outlining what that might look like.

Fans, reporters, and the Windsors themselves were caught off-guard by the Sussexes' shocking announcement. Aides were directed to "find workable solutions" for Harry and Meghan's future in "days, not weeks." And that's what they did: Queen Elizabeth held a meeting with Harry, Prince Charles, and Prince William at Sandringham to "talk things through" and review "a range of possibilities," according to a source.

Meghan, however, was already back in Canada by the time the meeting took place. There, she had reunited with baby Archie, who had stayed in the North American country while his parents traveled to the UK. (Harper's Bazaar reported that he was left in the care of Jessica Mulroney, Meghan's Toronto-based friend.) It was rumored that Meghan might join the "summit" by phone, but in the end, "the Sussexes decided that it wasn’t necessary for the Duchess to join yesterday’s meeting at Sandringham," a source explained.

A few days later, Buckingham Palace released a rough outline for Meghan and Harry's future. In short, they're sacrificing their responsibilities as working royals, ability to formally represent the Queen, and their HRH title styling—all for the freedom to live in Canada part-time and pursue commercial deals without the Palace's oversight.

Still, in a speech on Sunday, Prince Harry made it clear that this wasn't the last we'll see of the Sussexes. "The UK is my home and a place that I love. That will never change," he said, later adding, "What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you. Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am."
