Prime Minister Boris Johnson defends Covid vaccine pledge

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has defended his pledge to reduce the spread of coronavirus worldwide as the UK offered at least 100 million surplus vaccine doses to some of the world’s poorest countries. Under the PM’s plan, the UK will provide five million doses by the end of September, with 25 million more by the end of 2021.
