Premier League Match Postponed as Anti-Glazer Protesters Take to Pitch at Manchester United's Home Ground

Manchester United’s Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday, May 2, was postponed for “safety reasons” after fans broke into Old Trafford stadium during a protest against the club’s owners.

Greater Manchester Police said more than 1,000 fans gathered at Manchester United’s home stadium to protest against the Glazer family, who took over the club in 2005.

Police said a group of around 100 protesters broke into the stadium and ran onto the pitch. One police officer sustained a “significant slash wound to his face”, requiring emergency hospital treatment.
