Powerful Winter Storm Covers Capitol Hill in Snow

A major winter storm dumped at least 6 inches of snow in many parts of the Washington, DC, region on Monday, January 3.

A half-million customers were without power in Virginia and Maryland due to the storm, the Washington Post reported. As much as a foot of snow fell south of Washington, the paper said.
