Powerful Surf Erodes Path in Santa Cruz

Widespread and “significant” damage was seen in Santa Cruz County, California, after a powerful storm brought flooding and dangerous surf conditions to parts of the state’s Central Coast on Thursday, January 5, local officials said.

Niky Taylor filmed this footage on Friday from West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, showing parts of a pedestrian path eroded by the surf. Santa Cruz County officials advised residents to avoid the coast due to dangerous surf.
