Mohammed Al Shughul says the craft has been in his family for generations
His workshop is known as one of the first businesses in Bahrain
and is now also a popular tourist attraction
The Jaffar Al Shughul workshop produces between 200-500 pots a month
which vary from decorative items to plates and coolers for daily use

“I was born into the pottery-making profession. My family has been in the business for a long time. Pottery is an old profession in Bahrain, it is known in Al A’ali, and I learned the craft from my father.”
