Barcelona winger Ansu Fati has reportedly told potential suitors Sevilla that he will be joining Tottenham, amid links with several other clubs.

Ange Postecoglou has identified the 20-year-old as a top target as he looks to add another winger to his squad before the transfer window closes on Friday.

Fati made his first appearance for Barcelona aged just 16 and he has always been tipped to become a superstar in the future. Injuries and a lack of consistent playing time has stunted his development somewhat, however.

The Spaniard has made 112 appearances for the Spanish giants in total, scoring 29 goals and making 10 assists in the process.

Fati currently finds himself behind the likes of Raphinha and Ferran Torres in the pecking order. As a result, he is open to joining a Premier League club.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Liverpool are weighing up a move Fati in case Mohamed Salah is sold. Chelsea have also made enquiries into signing the youngster.

It now seems, however, that Tottenham are the club leading the race for Fati’s signature.

Fati wants Tottenham move

According to Spanish outlet Mundo DeportivoFati has informed Sevilla, who have submitted a bid for him, that he will be joining Tottenham.

The report claims that Fati is ‘listening to offers’ from a host of European clubs but has ‘already decided to join Spurs.’

His potential arrival would give Ange Postecoglou another top winger, to provide competition for the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Heung-min Son and Ivan Perisic.

The London club have been pushing hard to sign the Barcelona star over the past 24 hours and their efforts have seemingly paid off, at least on the player’s side.

Now Fati has made his decision to join Tottenham, it is up to Daniel Levy and co to negotiate a transfer fee with Barcelona.

Reports suggest that the LaLiga champions are looking for a fee in the region of €50m (approx. £42.9m) for Fati.

Tottenham have already spent over £150m on new signings this summer, though, so may need to sell players before they can sanction any more major incomings.

Japhet Tanganga is one player that has been deemed surplus to requirements by Postecoglou, and reports suggest that Everton have just ‘made an offer’ to sign him.

If Tottenham can offload Tanganga and a couple others before the transfer deadline, they have a great chance of agreeing a deal for Fati.
