KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Paris-based Malaysian singer Datuk Shake will be returning to the country for a concert on December 16.

In a statement, joint organisers InTour Live Events and iMe Entertainment Group said the concert would be held at Zepp KL on 8.30pm.

Known for his songs Tu sais je t'aime (You Know I Love You), Umi, Pulanglah and Anugerah Dari Kegagalan, the now 73-year-old Datuk Shake or his real name Datuk Sheikh Abdullah Sheikh Ahmad Bahweres, was the first Asian artist to achieve fame in France, Europe and French-speaking countries.

For his efforts in promoting French language and its culture in Asia, Datuk Shake was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et Lettre (Knight of the Order of Arts, Letters, and Merits) by the French government.

Datuk Shake said he had planned to return to Malaysia to meet his fans in 2020 but the plan hit a snag due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the 90-minute concert, Datuk Shake will be performing his songs in three languages, namely French, English and Malay.

Tickets priced between RM358 and RM598 will go on sale on October 3 at 11am via http://www.ticketcharge.com.my.

There is also a premium box that retails at RM5,000 and can seat eight persons.
