Pollution-Control and Recovery Efforts Continue in Wake of Hurricane Ida

Coast Guard crews have been working with contractors to remove pollution threats from harbors and marinas in southern Louisiana as part of recovery efforts from Hurricane Ida.

This footage, released by DVIDS on October 11, shows those assigned to the marine environmental response working at Jean Lafitte Harbor and Venice Marina, over a month after the storm.

Lt Anita Wade, assistant safety officer, said, “It’s been good to feel like a part of the response, but it’s also been hard to see folks that, a month out, are still struggling.”
