Police Seek Suspect in Michigan 'Road Rage' Shooting

Michigan police were asking the public for help locating a driver suspected of opening fire at another motorist in Dearborn, Michigan, on Sunday, October 18, during a traffic confrontation that was captured on camera by the victim.

Footage shot by Abdulhadi el Hadi shows him yelling at the suspect to put down his gun before the suspect, driving a green Honda Accord, appears to fire a shot at the victim’s car.

El Hadi told local media that the suspect had cut him off, and that he started recording as he pulled up alongside the suspect to confront him.

The second part of el Hadi’s video shows at least two holes on his vehicle, in the driver’s door and window, as police officers standing beside the vehicle take notes.

Dearborn Police issued a statement on Monday saying an investigation into the incident was ongoing, and the suspect was last seen driving southbound on Greenfield from Warren Avenue.

“Reckless acts such as this endanger innocent lives and will not be tolerated," Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in the statement. “The Dearborn Police Department will aggressively investigate this incident and the person responsible will be held accountable.”

Speaking to Storyful, el Hadi said he wanted other drivers to learn from his experience and not to confront aggressive drivers. He told Storyful that though his vehicle was damaged, he did not sustain any injuries. Credit: Abdulhadi el Hadi via Storyful
