Police rescue lost, dehydrated vulture in Madrid
STORY: Video released by the police showed the bird in the doorway of a residential building in the trendy Malasana district.
One officer waved his hand to distract the bird's attention while another slowly inched closer from behind before expertly throwing a blanket over it. It was then bundled into a box before being taken to the Community of Madrid's Wild Animal Recovery Center (CRAS).
A worker at the centre told Reuters the bird was about a year old and slightly dehydrated.
The vulture will remain in the centre until it is fit to be returned to its natural habitat.
