Police Release Audio of 911 Call After Bob Saget Found Dead

Authorities released redacted audio of the 911 call made to police after actor Bob Saget was found unresponsive in an hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, January 9.

Saget was found in bed in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes hotel on Sunday afternoon, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OSCO) said. “Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case,” they wrote on Facebook.

In the call, a hotel employee tells a 911 operator that staff had found an “unresponsive guest” who was not breathing and had no pulse.

According to the OCSO incident report, family members had phoned the hotel to do a welfare check on Saget. He had been due to check out of the hotel but had not been in contact with any of his family, the report states.

A member of the Ritz-Carlton’s security team knocked on Saget’s hotel room door “several times” but received no response, police say. They then entered the room and found Saget “cold to the touch, yellow and clammy,” the police report says. Saget was declared dead at 4.18 pm, according to the report.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said it did not anticipate any further updates in the case, and said the medical examiner’s office would determine the cause of death.
