Protesters and police clashed in Miami, Florida, on June 10, with physical altercations breaking out in front of Bayside Marketplace.
Footage shows an officer wrestling with one male on the ground, while several other people – some holding protest signs – can be seen in violent confrontations with officers. “Back up!” one of the officers can be heard repeatedly yelling at the crowd.
Local news reported that seven people were arrested during the protests on a range of charges. A Christopher Columbus statue was vandalized during the rally, and police told local reporters that the demonstration turned violent when officers went to arrest those responsible.
