Wisconsin Police Officer Uses Football Skills to Tackle Deer Inside Nursing Home

Police officers in Wausau, Wisconsin, had to get physical with at deer early on March 21 after it had smashed through a window into a nursing home.

Video released by the Wausau Police Department shows officers Karlen, Pfaff and Pacey wrangling the deer to the ground and eventually getting it out a door.

Officer Karlen is a former “elite football athlete,” the police department said, and his skills came in handy in “tackling” this particular callout.

“Although the deer appeared to have sustained a couple of small cuts from the glass, the officers were able to successfully get her back to her natural habitat without any further harm,” Wausau Police Department said on Facebook. Credit: Wausau Police Department via Storyful
