The Canadian Coast Guard says it's searching for one of its own crewmembers, reportedly missing at sea.
In an email to CBC News just before 6 p.m., a coast guard spokesperson said a crewmember was discovered missing on Monday around 9:45 a.m. after the CCGS Vincent Massey arrived in St. John's.
"Following an unsuccessful and extensive search on board the vessel, a multi-asset at-sea search began immediately and is still underway," Kariane Charron wrote.
"The CCG is doing everything possible to locate our missing crew member."
The RCMP is also involved in the search in the Pouch Cove area, media relations officer Cpl. Jolene Garland told CBC News.
