Police out in Force as Melbourne Places Public Housing Apartments on Lockdown
A large number of police were seen in the Melbourne suburb of North Melbourne on July 5 as Victoria moved to address an outbreak of COVID-19. Nine public housing estates there and in neighbouring Flemington were placed on lockdown.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced the lockdown of the buildings on July 4 after 23 new cases were discovered in 12 households.
