Police and Farmers Join Forces to Salt Roads During Heavy Snow Showers in Irish Town

Police in Donegal, Ireland, released footage of an officer shovelling salt onto a road from the back of a tractor, as police said “heavy snow showers” brought traffic to a “stand still” in the town of Buncrana late on Monday, January 16.

“Where there is a will there is a way,” police said on Facebook. Officers “from the roads policing unit rolled their sleeves up and assisted local farmers in distributing salt along the roads to get the traffic moving again,” they said.

According to Donegal Live, heavy overnight snow led to “extremely dangerous” driving conditions on Tuesday, as Donegal was under a status yellow warning for snow and ice. Credit: Garda Siochana via Storyful
