Investigators say a pair of suspicious deaths in the southeast community of Penbrooke Meadows have been determined to be the result of a murder-suicide.

Police say the deaths happened over the weekend, and investigators reached the conclusion after autopsies were finished Tuesday.

Officers responded to the southeast Calgary home at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday after reports of a disturbance. When they got there, they found two people dead.

Police said to protect the privacy of a child at the residence, no names are being released. The child was not hurt and is being looked after by family, they said.
