The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said on November 22 that a number of baby turtles that had been confiscated from people trying to sell them on the city’s famous Strip were “doing great” and would be available for adoption.
Dori Koren, a captain with the LVMPD, had posted footage credited to the department on November 14 showing turtles being offered for sale out of a suitcase. “This is a first, even for Vegas,” that video was captioned.
In the update on Monday, Koren said the turtles were thriving.
“The Animal Foundation is keeping them safe & waiving the adoption fees,” Koren said. Credit: LVMPD/dori_koren via Storyful
