Pokémon Sword and Shield's second expansion DLC, The Crown Tundra, has finally been given a release date.
A Pokémon Direct from Game Freak today (September 29) revealed that the new area we'll be able to explore from October 22. In the Crown Tundra, you'll be able to catch every legendary Pokémon from previous games, including new forms of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.
There's also Galarian Slowking, interesting looking Regis, and a brand new regal looking Pokémon.
Gameplay wise, Raid battles will be expanded with Dynamax Adventures, that involve you teaming up with three other people and exploring underground, choosing which routes to take and which Pokémon to fight.
There's also a new tournament featuring the gym leaders from the main games and The Isle of Armor DLC, which will see you team up with the characters and take part in double battles. Competitive players will be glad to know that a new item will let you change a Pokémon's ability to its Hidden Ability too.
It was also announced today that you will FINALLY be able to transfer your pocket monsters from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home by the end of the year (hopefully), meaning all your community day shinies will be able to battle properly and on the big screen.
Starting today, a bunch of Pikachus wearing the different caps Ash has worn across the many seasons of the anime will be available to claim via Mystery Gift. Try the passwords P1KACHUGET and 1CH00SEY0U for the first two, and keep an eye on this website for the rest when they become available.
