Pod of Dolphins Circle California Paddleboarder in Calm, Clear Pacific

A paddleboarder off the coast of Dana Point, California, captured the moment a pod of dolphins began circling near him in the Pacific’s crystal-clear waters, video uploaded on January 29 shows.

Bill Clements shared video of his encounter with the dolphins in “unreal conditions” to his @paddlegoat Instagram account.

The footage, recorded with Clements’s 360-degree camera, shows the dolphins swimming beside and below him, as Clements said he’d “never experienced ocean water this clear out of Dana Point before.”

“I paddled out several miles and was at depths of 500-1,000 feet of water when I encountered a friendly pod of offshore bottlenose dolphins,” Clements told Storyful. “The water was so clear it was incredible.” Credit: @paddlegoat via Storyful
