Newly minted Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has taken to social media to express his gratitude to his wife Muhaini Zainal Abidin, the woman he married in 1986.
"My wife is the one who has always been by my side since we became friends when I was 19 years old. I joined politics in 1986 at the age of 26 when we just got married.
"Nani is a very simple person and she does not want to be under the spotlight, that's why can hardly see her (in public).
"Thanks for always being by my side, from when I had nothing until today. We are together through thick and thin," he said.
Ismail Sabri also uploaded an image on Facebook of Muhaini (above) adjusting his collar. The couple is blessed with four children.
This was the second post he uploaded since his swearing-in ceremony as the ninth premier yesterday.
Last night, the proud grandfather shared an image of his moment with his only granddaughter, who was unhappy for not being able to follow him outside.
Ismail Sabri, 61, was the deputy prime minister in Muhyiddin Yassin’s cabinet.
