PM Anwar claims threatened by European MPs for rallying behind Palestine against in Gaza conflict

CYBERJAYA, Oct 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said he had been threatened by certain European parliamentarians after speaking up for Palestinian rights in the Middle East.

He did not disclose their identities or which member states of the European Union had issued threatening remarks against him, but said he will not be cowed.

“There were European MPs who gave,” he said, trailing off before adding that he will give a clear statement later.

He indicated that the threats came in the form of statements, with one made directly from an unnamed European MPs.

To Anwar it was “not a problem”.

“We have work to do and we will continue to do it,” he told reporters after attending a carnival to promote the national language at the Multimedia University here.
